Animal Crossing Wii WAS confirmed at E3 today. The title of the latest AC game will be Animal Crossing: City Folk. One of the main new things being you can talk to eachother online with the new Wii:Speak! Also you can see how other people are doing in HRA. Four players can connect to one town at once and play party games with eachother as well as the usual exploration of towns. Obviously there's more details but I'll update them in a bit when I can replay it to make sure I don't miss any!

Oh, almost forgot! Release date!

BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR! YAY! Thumbsup (2008)

Ok here's the new stuffage/still there stuffage:
-Everything looks awesome btw!
-Wii:Speak, new microphone option talk to other players online. Use with headset but community can hear you talking.
-Can make more patterns
-Events: Bunny Day, halloween, New years
-You still live in a town but there is a City where you can explore
-Auction site in city where you can buy items and sell your own!
-HRA in city where you can find out what other players are doing (With Lyle inside weirdly enough)
-You can visit gracie's shop in the city!
-Harriet's salon is also in the city where you can "change your hairstyle or choose to put on a mask and look like your mii".
-You can write letters to other players and attach pictures to them, you can send them not just to other towns but the Wii message board too, also friends cell phones and personal computers.
-Looks like all the old furniture and animals are there, at least mostly although they have most likely added a ton of new stuff.
Wow people put it up on youtube already? Alternatively for a slightly better quality one watch it here where I watched it:

OMFG! I LOVE THIS. I just begged my dad for the game.
I was so excited when I found this out on my Wii just now. And it's released in 2008, so that's even more good news.

The E3 announcement gave me chills, the whole Mail system is going to be nuts. I imagine most of you AR- People are going to be mad to actually have to work for your bells come this version of AC, lol :P
I don't AR but I'm sure they'll figure ut some way to hack the game. They always do. :[ But for a short time, people will have to work for their stuff!
Couple of questions maybe someone knows.

1. Will this game make use of the loathed friend codes?

2. Will the city be one huge MMO?

3. I remember when some Nintendo dude said (on Wii announcement) that in Animal Crossing Wii you can visit another town (online) even if the host's Wii is swtiched off (but in online mode).
My guess for #1 is yes because the Wii already works on friendcodes generally.

As for #2 I'm going to guess yes too. The City is a completely different area from your town and there you can go to the HRA and see how other people are doing which makes me think it's a online public area.

I remember hearing the same thing about going into towns when they are offline, I can't remember it being confirmed but I hope if they do this you have an option to stop people coming into your town if you want.
Up to 4 people can visit a town. Not sure if it includes the host itself, so I don't think the city will be one huge place with lots of people at once. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I'm looking forward to this game.
That's the town, city is a different place. Looks like you get a bus/coach there.
