I've been asked many questions lately. Here is a rundown:
Q: Why can't be talk about "adult" topics?
A: As I've said many times before, this forum is for youngsters. Between the ages of 7-17 kids are very impressionable. I feel it is necessary to keep this forum PG or at least PG-13.
Drugs, weapons or "adult" subject matter do not belong here.
Q: Why do you ban so many newbies?
A: Because they tend to come on here, spam and break rules. Then when they are confronted about it, they become obnoxiously rude or continue to break the rules. Everyone gets a second chance, but throw curses at forum members or myself and you will find yourself unable to get on the forum.
Q: Why do we have to post in certain threads, for example the "I need" thread or "The Gates" thread?
A: Because this cuts down on unnecessary spam threads. Who want to see 160 pages of "Hey my gates are open!" when we can have that info in ONE thread? The threads are also stickied for easy access.
Q: How can I get a thread stickied?
A: Contact me and I'll see if you have a favourable enough subject to be stickied.
Q: Why do you complain about grammar and spelling?
A: First off English is my SECOND language so I'm a little more in tune to misspellings. Second, I'm a little bit older than most of you and don't understand this thing called net speak. It is also very difficult for me to read bad sentence structures. I understand that many of you are able to decipher the code, but there are also many who are not capable of this. Proper grammar and spelling tends to prevent many misunderstandings.
Q: What do I do if I have a problem with a forum member?
A: Contact one of the mods or myself and we will see about getting the issue resolved. Keep all e-mails and PMs that the person sent you.
Q: I hate the mods, what do I do?
A: Contact me and we'll figure it out.
Q: I hate you!
A: Talk to Turmune about that. If he sees it's necessary to fire me, he will. If he doesn't fire me, you'll just have to deal with it.
I would also like everyone to know that I don't have to be here. I don't need to help out. I don't have to give advice or comfort. I do not need to write words of encouragement to someone who is down. But I chose to do these things because every single person matters. Every one of you matters to me. Do I get into arguments with people? You bet I do. Do I know when I should keep silent? You bet again. Do I have life's answers, no way! I do my best to help everyone out. Not only in the game but also in real life. And I would like for everyone to keep in mind that being an admin is different from being a regular forum member. My mods also know this. You are put into a position where you have to listen to both sides unbiased. You have to do the right thing even if you don't agree with it.
Do my mods get punished? Absolutely! One had a talking to just a couple of days ago. I won't tell you who it was, but know that I don't practice favouritism.
So for everyone who would like to complain, think about all this.
If you want a new admin, please let Turmune know. So far he thinks I'm doing an awesome job. He actually appreciates someone taking care of this forum while he is tied up in other things.
If you would like to complain to me directly, please, feel free. I'll listen to you and we will find a solution together. If we are unable, I will contact Turmune and he may be able to find an answer.
